In Paulo Coelho's book "Brida", —published in 1990—Coelho takes his readers through the voyage of modern witchcraft and revealing the "Truths of the Universe". The story is set in Ireland. The protagonist, Brida, who lives in Dublin, is an enticing Irish girl in her early twenties. She has everything a girl can hope for—a home, a good and stable job, and a man she loves. But she’s struggling, struggling to find more about the Universe and how to become a witch. The story is about how she overcomes her fears, finds out about hidden meanings of the Universe, and becomes a witch. The plot of the story is distinct and attracts reader. As it did to me. Personally, I am a fan of fiction, with paranormal plots, the main reason I was attracted to this book was ‘witchcraft'. But this isn’t about fiction, not completely. This book brings out pieces of reality through partial fiction. This story is suitable for young adults and over. A very engrossing and inspiring tale of love, truth, and transformation is truly stunning and heartwarming. Although the storyline is great, the book lacks a major element of surprise, save for the slight somewhat tragic romantic revelation at the end of the book, which wasn’t that much of a surprise. As I already said before that this book is great for adults and teens for it is highly motivating. All over I think I recommend this book. Certain parts might seem like ramblings and quite difficult to follow, but are actually the truth around us, in a philosophical language.

BOOK rating: - 9/10
