Like all Ruskin Bond books this one too mesmerizes us with his writing but not this time with nature, ghosts etc., but with his love for India. Although his birth place is not India, Ruskin Bond has lived in India all his life except three years in the Channel Islands of England. Here in this book he shares his little secrets and how fond he was of India and when he left for England, he would then realize that he was in England but his heart had always called for India. In this book Rusty loves to play and study and write and he went to England to build his career in writing in which he didn’t succeed in and he was finally relieved when he got the excuse to return to India. When he got back to India, he could feel that he had finally listened to his heart by coming back to his own home India. In this book Ruskin Bond also expresses his love for the country like the trees, animals and birds. He returns and his family is enthusiastic of his return and pursues his career in writing and by which we that he has and is a very renowned author all over the world but who knows that he had gone to England and couldn’t publish anything but when he came to India, he became the very one author he had desired to be.
